The Museum of Modern Art Machynlleth is an art museum housed in multiple buildings beside The Tabernacle, displaying contemporary and modern works. Seven galleries spread across the site hold both permanent collections and rotating exhibitions.
The museum began in 1986 when a businessman converted a former Wesleyan chapel into an arts center. Additional buildings and galleries were added over the following years as the collection grew.

The museum is accessible by foot from the town center and offers wheelchair access throughout the buildings. Visitors should check opening hours in advance, as the galleries operate on different schedules.
A former leather tannery building was transformed into a modern gallery, preserving the site's industrial past. This carefully restored space demonstrates how traditional local craft and contemporary art can coexist in one place.
