London Silver Vaults

The London Silver Vaults is an underground marketplace with more than forty specialized silver shops spread across two corridors. You will find both antique and contemporary silverware here, ranging across different styles and price ranges.

The complex was founded in 1885 as a safe deposit facility to store valuables securely. During World War II, it survived bombing raids thanks to its reinforced steel-lined walls.

The shops here are run by families who have passed down their knowledge of silver craftsmanship over decades. This gives the place a personal, hands-on character that you can feel when you visit.

The vaults are open weekdays during the day and Saturdays in the morning, with the entrance at Southampton Buildings. Plan your visit in advance since weekend access is limited to the early hours.

One customer paid storage fees across many years to keep a single old coin in a secure vault. This shows how precious some items are to their owners, regardless of their actual value.
