St John the Evangelist's Church, Warrington, Gothic Revival church in Walton, England
The red sandstone structure rises with a four-stage tower, incorporating an octagonal spire and decorative chequerwork in its third stage section.
Sir Gilbert Greenall funded the construction of this church between 1882 and 1883, with architectural firm Sharpe, Paley and Austin leading the design process.
The interior features a marble font, oak pulpit, and stained glass windows, including a 1929 piece from Morris and Co in the south transept.
Located at coordinates 53.3626°N and -2.6049°W, the church maintains regular Anglican services and remains open to visitors throughout the year.
The entrance includes a 6-foot-high sandstone plinth supporting an oak-framed porch, leading to barrel-roofed nave and chancel spaces.
