Moore Nature Reserve encompasses 200 acres of varied landscapes with five lakes, woodlands, and meadows alongside the Manchester Ship Canal.
The land transformed from sand quarrying and farmland into a nature reserve, with FCC Environment managing its restoration since 1988.
Local residents participate in regular habitat restoration projects and clean-up activities to preserve the natural environment for future generations.
Free public access is available year-round, with nine bird hides, designated parking areas, and maintained footpaths throughout the reserve.
The reserve hosts all three British woodpecker species and five owl species, making it a prime location for bird observation in Cheshire.
