St Peter's Church stands at the highest point of Little Budworth, with a prominent tower built of red sandstone ashlar and topped with slate roofing.
The original church dates from 1190, while the current west tower was constructed between 1490 and 1526, followed by the main body reconstruction in 1800.
The Egerton family of Oulton Hall contributed to the church development, with their family vault located within the grounds until its sealing in 1870.
The church continues to operate as an Anglican parish church within the diocese of Chester, sharing its benefice with St Mary's Church in Whitegate.
Inside the church, visitors can find a Georgian pulpit and a painted font from the 17th century, alongside memorials to the Crimean War.
