St Peter's Church is a Grade I listed church building standing at the center of Petersfield Market Square. The structure features a cruciform layout with north and south aisles that date from the 12th century.
The building began around 1150 as a chapel called St Peter's in-the-veld. It served as a dependent chapel to Buriton for centuries before being established as a separate parish in 1886.
The building hosts an active choir that performs regularly during services and special occasions. A community cafe runs on Thursdays, where visitors and locals gather for coffee and homemade cakes.
The building is open daily until 3 PM and offers space for prayer and reflection. Sunday services begin at 9:30 AM, and the space is accessible for community gatherings and events.
The west tower contains eight bells used for traditional English Change Ringing. The oldest bell dates to 1750 and the tower shows four distinct construction stages across different periods.
