Blue House, Frome, Grade I heritage building in Market Place, Frome, England.
The Blue House stands near the town bridge with two decorative statues on its front facade representing a man and woman indicating its past functions.
Built in 1726 for £1,401, this structure replaced an earlier almshouse from 1461 that had been reconstructed in 1621 at the same location.
The building served as both the Bluecoat School for twenty boys and provided housing accommodation for twenty widows until educational activities ended in 1921.
The historic structure currently contains seventeen residential units, consisting of studio and one-bedroom apartments designed specifically for elderly inhabitants.
The statues on the facade depict figures known locally as Billy Ball and Nancy Guy, representing the male students and female residents of the past.
