Bradfield House, Grade I listed country house in Uffculme, England.
Bradfield House is an English country house that contains one of Devon's largest medieval great halls, fitted with an early 16th-century hammerbeam roof and Renaissance decorative panels. The main hall demonstrates the architectural craftsmanship typical of important residences from that period.
The Walrond family owned the property from the 13th century through the early 20th century and used it during important historical moments. Colonel Henry Walrond was connected to the house during William of Orange's 1688 landing.
The Spanish Room contains detailed woodwork and plasterwork that shows how skilled craftspeople decorated important rooms in historical English homes.
The house sits about 2 miles southwest of Uffculme village and is reached by country roads through the surrounding countryside. Access involves crossing the property grounds, so checking opening details in advance is helpful.
The grounds feature specimen cedar trees that stand out as living features of the landscape. However, much of the original topiary work vanished over time, changing how the gardens look today.
