Van Alen Building, Modern residential complex on Marine Parade, Brighton, England
The Van Alen Building features three connected blocks with curved lines, nautical-themed windows, and horizontal glazed areas along the Brighton seafront.
The construction began in 1999 on a former petrol station site after Berkeley Group Holdings obtained approval from local councils and heritage organizations.
The residential development attracted notable residents, including former Spice Girls member Emma Bunton who purchased one of the penthouses in 2001.
The building contains 38 residential units, including two penthouses, and stands at 24-30 Marine Parade in Brighton, with coordinates 50.8199°N, -0.1334°W.
A 2003 incident involved a fire in one penthouse, with investigators suggesting a seagull dropping a cigarette as the potential cause.
