Zetland

Zetland is a rescue boat displayed in a museum building along the seafront in Redcar and was built to save lives along the English coast. The vessel itself is relatively small and was operated by hand power and sails to pull people from the water.

The boat was built in 1802 and is the oldest rescue vessel of its kind still in existence. It was used for many decades to save people before eventually being preserved as a monument.
