Riverside Museum at Blake's Lock, Local history museum in Reading, England
The Riverside Museum occupies two former waterworks structures, the Screen House and Turbine House, positioned along the River Kennet in Reading.
The buildings originated as industrial waterworks facilities, with the Victorian-era Turbine House spanning directly across the River Kennet, containing original machinery.
The museum collection includes a Romani caravan constructed by Dunton and Sons, along with exhibits depicting river life through stuffed fish specimens and regatta memorabilia.
Visitors can access the museum from April through September between 10:00 and 18:00, with a walking path connecting it to Reading Museum through the Abbey Quarter.
The medieval wooden wheel from St Giles Mill, discovered during excavations at The Oracle shopping centre, represents a significant archaeological finding from Reading's river history.
