Scaleby Castle, Medieval castle in Scaleby, England.

The castle features a four-story tower, a great hall, and a circular moat measuring 7.4 meters in width surrounding the main structure.

Robert de Tilliol constructed the initial castle in the early 14th century after receiving land from Edward I and building permission from Edward II.

The castle represents the transition of English defensive structures, combining residential comfort with military architecture through its pele tower design.

Visitors can access the exterior grounds of the castle while the interior remains a private residence under the ownership of Baron Henley.

The castle survived two sieges during the English Civil War in 1645 and 1648, when Parliamentary troops set the structure on fire.
