Linton Park, Grade I listed country house in Linton, England.
Linton Park is a Grade I listed country house set on a south-facing slope overlooking the Kentish Weald, featuring 12 bedrooms and multiple reception rooms throughout. The estate encompasses 16 additional residential buildings, formal gardens, and extensive grounds including woods and a cricket pitch.
The original building was constructed in 1730 on the site of an earlier estate called Capell's Court. Major expansion and modernization took place around 1825 when architects transformed the structure for a new owner.
The estate features formal gardens that reflect how wealthy families once shaped their properties with care and design. These spaces show the tradition of blending architecture with nature that was important to English landowners.
The grounds are extensive and worth taking time to explore on foot, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The formal gardens and woodland areas are generally accessible, though interior access may vary depending on the current use of the property.
The architects who expanded the estate in the early 1800s went on to work on one of the country's most famous palaces years later. Their influence can therefore be seen both in this private home and in one of England's most recognizable buildings.
