Roses Theatre is an arts centre and theatre in Tewkesbury featuring a 375-seat auditorium equipped with digital projection systems for both live performances and film screenings. The venue is designed to accommodate a range of artistic presentations with modern technical facilities.
The building was constructed in 1973 on the site of the former Sabrina Cinema and workers discovered Roman remains during excavation. An archaeological investigation lasting six months took place before construction could continue.
The theatre hosts a diverse range of performances throughout the year including drama, comedy, music, and dance. Visitors experience a mix of artistic forms that reflect the cultural offerings of the town.
The venue offers Eric's Bar where visitors can enjoy refreshments before their show begins. The main entrance provides wheelchair access and staff are available to assist visitors with mobility needs.
Comedian Eric Morecambe performed one of his final shows at this theatre in May 1984. A conference room was named in his honour to commemorate this significant moment.
