Lion Salt Works, Industry museum and saltworks in Marston, England.
The Lion Salt Works features preserved buildings with salt pans, stove houses, and brine tanks demonstrating traditional salt manufacturing methods from the 1890s.
The Thompson family operated this salt production facility from 1894 to 1986, when the site closed and underwent transformation into a museum.
The site represents the industrial legacy of Cheshire, connecting generations of workers who contributed to the region's salt production through open-pan techniques.
The museum welcomes visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with adult admission at £6.60 and children at £4.20.
During the 1950s, ninety percent of the salt production went to West Africa, where customers preferred the light, flaky texture known as Lagos Salt.
