Loudoun Castle

Loudoun Castle was an amusement park in East Ayrshire that spread across grounds surrounding medieval castle ruins. The site included roller coasters, family attractions, and a water ride distributed across several zones.

The park opened in the mid-1990s under London-based management and welcomed visitors until its final closure in 2010. Ownership changed hands several times before a new company took control in the early 2000s.

The site drew families from across Scotland who came to experience rides set against the backdrop of medieval ruins. The contrast between ancient stonework and modern attractions created a setting that mixed heritage with entertainment.

The site sits near the town of Galston and was reachable via main roads from Glasgow and Edinburgh. Since closure, the rides and facilities are no longer accessible to the public.

After closure, many rides were offered for sale, including several roller coasters and carousels. The castle ruins themselves remained as a protected monument while the amusement facilities were dismantled.
