Originally established in 1401, the current structure dates from 1470 and underwent substantial restoration work by Benjamin Ferrey during the 1880s.
The church holds a 15th-century wooden pulpit and font, along with brass plaques spanning from the 17th through 19th centuries.

The tower reaches a height of 139 feet following Victorian modifications, making it a prominent feature visible across the Somerset landscape.
