Foxlease

Foxlease is an English country house in Hampshire situated within 65 acres of grounds, featuring Georgian fireplaces and a Gothic-style lounge as architectural focal points. The property was transferred to Girlguiding UK in 1921 and became a training center for Girl Guides and outdoor activities. This transition established its role as a gathering place for scouting education and international exchange among guide movements.

The main house contains rooms decorated by Girl Guide groups from around the world, each adding their own cultural touches to the interior spaces. This reflects how the site became a meeting point for international scouting communities to connect and share their traditions.

In 1924 the estate hosted one of the first international scouting camps, drawing hundreds of Girl Guides from many countries to gather and share experiences.
