The Hospital Club, Private members' club in Covent Garden, London, England
The Hospital Club is a private members' venue in Covent Garden with seven floors containing a television studio, recording studio, screening room, performance space, restaurant, lounges, and art gallery. The building also features fifteen bedrooms designed by contemporary artists, each equipped with cocktail-making facilities.
The building on Endell Street served as St Paul's Hospital from 1749 until 1992, then was purchased by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen in 1996. This change transformed the former hospital into a contemporary cultural venue.
The club brings together people working in creative fields through exhibitions, performances, and events that happen throughout the year. Visitors see how the space functions as both a meeting place and a venue for artists and media professionals.
Access is limited to members and their guests, so visitors should check membership or invitation requirements beforehand. The central location in Covent Garden makes it easy to reach by public transport and there are many cafés and restaurants nearby.
The building houses one of the first high-definition television studios in Britain, located two levels below ground with capacity for about 250 people. This underground facility was built with cutting-edge technology for its time.
