Jamea Masjid, Preston, Islamic worship center in Preston, England
The Jamea Masjid features four minarets and combines Middle Eastern architectural elements with European Gothic influences in its castle-like structure.
The mosque began in 1964 on Great Avenham Street, relocated to Clarendon Street in 1967, and moved to its current location in 1984.
The mosque includes Madrasah Taleemul Islam, which provides evening classes for children to learn religious teachings and moral guidance.
The main prayer hall accommodates 900 worshippers with two additional side rooms that increase capacity during large gatherings and special events.
The Jamea Educational Academy is building new modern facilities to replace the original structures that served the mosque since 1967.
