Woodbastwick Hall, English country house in Woodbastwick, Norfolk, United Kingdom.
Woodbastwick Hall is a reconstructed country house in Norfolk set near the River Bure, featuring traditional architectural details of English manor houses. The current building was completely rebuilt in 2004 and maintains the classical style of its predecessors.
The original house dates to 1600 and was rebuilt after two major fires: one in 1819 under architect George Smith and another in 1882 under Ewan Christian. Following use during the World Wars and as a farm training facility, the structure was demolished in 1971 before being reconstructed in 2004.
The hall served as a Red Cross auxiliary hospital during both World Wars before becoming an Agricultural Training College until its demolition in 1971.
The estate sits in Norfolk's countryside near the River Bure and is accessible from the surrounding rural areas. Visitors should prepare for exploring open land as the house is located in a typical English countryside setting.
The Cator family has owned the estate since 1807, creating a connection spanning two centuries. This long family ownership is unusual for country houses that often changed hands over time.
