Angel and Royal Hotel

The Angel and Royal Hotel is a large, multi-part building arranged around an inner courtyard, with the facade featuring impressive carved stone work from medieval times. The different sections connect through corridors and staircases, creating a maze-like experience for visitors.

The building was founded by the Knights Templar as a hostel in 1203 and stands as one of the oldest continuously operating hotels in England. Over the centuries it evolved from a simple lodging into a significant gathering place for nobility and merchants.
