Norgrove Court

Norgrove Court, Grade I listed mansion in Feckenham, England

Norgrove Court is a two-story red brick mansion displaying characteristic elements of 17th-century English design, with balanced windows and a striking entrance. The building sits on Norgrove Lane near Redditch in Worcestershire, forming the centerpiece of a country estate.

The mansion was built in 1649 and received Grade I listed status in 1954, marking its importance in English architectural heritage. This designation recognized the original construction quality and preservation across more than 300 years.

The owner Sir Thomas Cookes shaped local learning by funding Bromsgrove School and Worcester College through his endowments. His support shows how wealthy landowners of that era invested in education for their communities.

The property is a private residence with limited access for visitors, typically only during heritage open days or organized tours. It is advisable to check ahead for any visiting opportunities or special events.

The estate preserves an Old Cottage next to the main house, protected as a Grade II listed building and the only surviving outbuilding from the original complex. This small structure sits southwest of the main residence and stands in contrast to the grander mansion.
