The Roman Catholic Church of St Peter stands at the corner of London Road and Black Dog Way, featuring pointed arches and ribbed vaults.
The construction of the church began in 1860 after demolishing an earlier chapel, with consecration taking place on October 8, 1868.
The interior contains stained glass windows crafted by Hardman & Co. and Clayton and Bell, along with a triptych from Mayer of Munich.
Four Sunday Mass services are held at the church, with times scheduled for Saturday at 6:00 PM and Sunday at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 5:30 PM.
The church building incorporates a high altar and reredos designed by Gilbert Blount, displaying carved figures of different saints throughout.
