Knightsland Farm House

The timber-framed farmhouse stands two stories high with an attic space and features three windows on the main range with brick casing throughout.

Built in the 16th century and rebuilt around 1600, the farmhouse underwent significant modifications including refacing in the late 17th century and extensions in later periods.

The first floor contains remarkable wall paintings from 1590-1610 depicting four panels of the Prodigal Son parable with floral friezes in brocade patterns.

The building contains a through passage with a panelled screen leading into the hall, featuring reset linenfold panelling and a 17th-century fluted chimney-piece.

The farmhouse includes a full-height square stair turret at the rear with a separately gabled roof and a prominent front gable on the crosswing.
