Belchamp Hall, Country house in Belchamp Walter, England.
Belchamp Hall is a red brick country house laid out across nine bays and two stories, crowned with a parapet and centered by a projecting pediment. The main building sits within grounds that include converted outbuildings such as a mill and former stables.
The house was built in 1720 as a replacement for an earlier Elizabethan structure after John Raymond purchased the estate from Sir John Wentworth. It remained within the Raymond family for generations afterward.
The interior features wall paneling from the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods, paired with family portraits painted by accomplished artists that reflect the tastes of its residents. These works create a sense of personal history throughout the rooms.
The property welcomes overnight visitors through four separate lodging options: the Mill, Coach House, Hayloft, and Stables, each accommodating two people. Advance booking is recommended as availability is limited by the small guest capacity.
The property appeared on screen as Felsham Hall in the television series Lovejoy during the 1980s and 1990s. This television connection brought the house to the attention of viewers of the popular detective drama.
