Baba Keenaram Sthal

Baba Keenaram Sthal is a Hindu temple in Ravindrapuri, Varanasi, featuring a sacred tomb called Samadhi dedicated to Baba Keenaram. The complex includes meditation spaces and spiritual grounds arranged around this central monument.

The temple was founded in 1601 by Baba Keenaram and became the headquarters of the Aghori sect, a branch of Shaivism focused on meditation practice. This establishment marked the start of a major spiritual movement in Varanasi.

The temple draws followers of the Aghori tradition from across India during Maha Shivaratri, when people gather here to perform rituals and prayers together. The celebrations show how this place brings together people from different Hindu schools.
