Kartause Allerengelberg, Carthusian monastery in Schnals Valley, Italy.

The Kartause Allerengelberg sits on a forest terrace at 1327 meters elevation, displaying both Gothic and Baroque architectural elements throughout its structure.

Heinrich, Duke of Tyrol and Carinthia, established the monastery in 1326, which underwent significant changes until its dissolution in 1782 during the Josephine reforms.

The monastery maintained an extensive library of documents and literature, while its monks performed various roles including medical services for the local population.

Guided tours operate weekly during summer months, allowing visitors to explore the remaining structures including the prior's house and monastery walls.

After the monastery closed, forty families moved into the buildings, creating the village of Karthaus, which still displays original architectural features.
