Cassina Amata, Residential district in Paderno Dugnano, Italy.
Cassina Amata is a residential area occupying the northwestern section of Paderno Dugnano, bordered by neighboring settlements on three sides. The SP 44 bis provincial road, the main route linking the area to Milan, runs through the district and serves as its primary transportation connection.
The settlement began as a farming village under the parish jurisdiction of Desio, with around 170 residents recorded in 1751. Over the following decades, the population grew steadily and tripled in size by 1805.
The Church of Sant'Ambrogio serves as the focal point of community life with its neoclassical design that reflects local architectural traditions. It anchors the spiritual and social identity of the settlement in a way that residents still experience today.
The area is best explored on foot from the provincial road, where most points of interest and the church are accessible. Everything is close enough together that you can see the main sights without much effort.
A peace monument stands in the square in front of the church, created by sculptor Milo Lombardo in 1997. It was commissioned for the 300th anniversary of the church and serves as a local reminder of that moment in time.
