Castello Normanno-Svevo

Castello Normanno-Svevo is a medieval fortress in Sannicandro di Bari with four corner towers and a central fortified keep. The structure is enclosed by walls that were once surrounded by a moat for additional protection.

The fortress traces its origins to the early 10th century when it was built as a defensive structure against Saracen raids. Normans and Hohenstaufen rulers later took control and reshaped it into its current form.
