Church of Santa Maria Primerana

The Church of Santa Maria Primerana stands at the eastern end of Piazza Mino, next to the Praetorian Palace in the Tuscan town of Fiesole.

The church, established in 966 AD on the foundation of a Roman temple, incorporates a pietra serena pillar from the ancient structure in its north wall.

The interior displays a 13th-century tablet by Maestro di Rovezzano, marble bas-reliefs by Francesco da Sangallo, and a wooden crucifix from the school of Giotto.
