Monument to the Meeting of Teano, Bronze monument in Piazza Mino, Fiesole, Italy.
The bronze equestrian sculpture features King Vittorio Emanuele II and Giuseppe Garibaldi mounted on horses, positioned face to face while shaking hands.
Created by sculptor Oreste Calzolari in 1906, the monument commemorates the meeting between the two leaders at Teano bridge on October 26, 1860.
This sculpture represents a defining moment in Italian unification when Garibaldi recognized Vittorio Emanuele II as the ruler of a united Italy.
The monument stands in front of Palazzo Pretorio, with regular buses connecting Florence to Fiesole making it easily accessible for visitors.
The original monument included a stone obelisk that was destroyed during World War II bombings, leaving only the bronze statues intact.
