Monte Galbiga, Mountain summit in Lombardy, Italy

Monte Galbiga reaches an elevation of 1698 meters, presenting a natural ridge that divides Lake Como from Lake Lugano in northern Italy.

The mountain contains remnants of the Cadorna Line, featuring preserved military trenches and fortifications constructed during World War I military operations.

The summit hosts an open-air church with a cross and a statue of the Virgin, reflecting the religious traditions of the local mountain communities.

Hikers can start their journey at Rifugio Boffalora, following marked trails through larch forests for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach the peak.

An astronomical observatory near the summit allows visitors to study celestial objects while positioned at this elevated mountain location.
