Senju-in

Senju-in is a Buddhist temple where multiple traditional wooden buildings, prayer halls, and tower structures occupy the grounds. Stone pathways and manicured gardens create connections between the various sections of the site.

The temple was established in the late 16th century by monk Hōjō Ujiyasu as a center of Buddhist learning and practice. Subsequent restorations over the centuries have maintained its structures and spiritual function to the present day.

This site serves as an active center of worship where local devotees participate in seasonal observances and prayer rituals throughout the year. Visitors can observe how Buddhist practice remains woven into the rhythm of daily spiritual life in the region.

The grounds are easy to navigate on foot, with parking areas and rest spaces provided for visitors. Wearing comfortable walking shoes is recommended since pathways vary in surface and condition.

A large statue of Kannon stands within the temple grounds, attracting visitors who come to offer prayers. This representation of the Bodhisattva of compassion is one of the most notable features visitors encounter.
