Chiesa San Agostino, Gothic Catholic church in Montefalco, Italy

The church features a facade of white and pink stones from Subasio with an ogival portal decorated with alternating colored columns and Corinthian capitals.

The Augustinians received land from the municipality in 1275, and Brother Angelo de' Conti da Foligno completed the construction of the church in 1285.

The church houses significant frescoes, including a Madonna della Misericordia by Giovanni di Corraduccio and works by Bernardino Mezzastris and Ambrogio Lorenzetti.

The church stands on Corso Goffredo Mameli 28 in the historic center of Montefalco, with an additional nave that contains six separate bays.

The bell tower collapse in 1489 led to a reconstruction with lower heights, depicted in a 1452 Benozzo Gozzoli fresco at San Francesco abbey.
