Jinchōkan Moriya Historical Museum

The Jinchokan Moriya Historical Museum displays historical documents and artifacts from the Moriya family, who served as priests at the Suwa Grand Shrine.

The museum holds 1,618 ancient manuscripts, including 156 prefectural treasures dating back to the Kamakura period and 40 documents from the Takeda clan.

The exhibition rooms showcase traditional Shinto rituals through reconstructed offerings and ceremonial items used during the Ontousai Festival at Suwa Shrine.

Located 40 minutes on foot from Chino Station, the museum opens daily from 9:00 to 16:30, with admission fees ranging from 30 yen for children to 100 yen for adults.

The building, designed by architect Terunobu Fujimori in 1991, combines reinforced concrete with traditional Japanese architectural elements and local sukehira stones.
