Akita Rolling Stock Center

The Akita Rolling Stock Center is a train maintenance facility located in Akita City with multiple service bays and dedicated tracks for regular servicing of regional passenger trains and carriages. The complex has the infrastructure to handle mechanical repairs and inspections for different types of rolling stock.

The facility began operations with the opening of the Akita Shinkansen Line in 1997, marking the expansion of high-speed rail into northern Japan. This development connected the region to Tokyo and other major cities, creating new travel opportunities for residents.
