Brief Messages from the Heart Museum

The Brief Messages from the Heart Museum contains exhibits displaying short letters and messages across multiple exhibition rooms covering 700 square meters.

The museum opened in August 2015 near Maruoka Castle after relocating from its initial planned location at the former Uchibori moat.

The museum houses prize-winning works from the One-stroke Enlightenment Award, a poetry competition established in 1993 focusing on family and emotions.

Visitors can reach the museum by taking a 40-minute bus ride from JR Fukui Station to Maruoka Castle stop or driving 5 minutes from Hokuriku Expressway.

The Fumi Garden within the museum functions as a café where visitors can read letters while the old castle room presents videos about Sakai city.
