Baia dei Saraceni

Baia dei Saraceni is a Mediterranean bay along the Ligurian coast, framed by limestone cliffs and covered with sandy beach. The water transitions from pale turquoise near the shore to deeper blue further out.

The name comes from a period when sea raiders used this protected inlet as a refuge. Its sheltered position made it valuable for maritime activity along this coastline.

The name recalls a period when this inlet held strategic importance for seafarers in the Mediterranean. Today, local fishing traditions remain visible in the way boats are anchored and maintained along the shore.

Access is by stone steps from the road above, requiring a short descent to reach the sand. Basic facilities appear during summer, though the beach can become crowded during peak hours.

The limestone cliffs display layered patterns shaped over geological time. Exploring the rocks during low tide reveals hidden pools and unusual formations that most visitors miss.
