Astravas

Astravas is a manor built in Italian villa style with a two-story palace and a belvedere tower overlooking artificial lakes. The structure sits within extensive park grounds featuring designed planting areas and water features that frame the entire property.

The estate was founded in 1849 after a prominent family acquired the land and redesigned it following Italian architectural principles. During the 20th century the property underwent significant transformations that shaped its current appearance.

The manor served for generations as the residence of a prominent family whose influence shaped the local region. The building and its surroundings reflect how the Polish-Lithuanian nobility expressed their status through architecture and landscaped grounds.

The manor is reached by local roads and sits in quiet countryside with open spaces surrounding it on all sides. Comfortable shoes are recommended as exploring the park grounds and exterior areas requires time to walk through the full layout.

The family departed the estate under difficult circumstances when the state took control in the 1920s. This sudden loss marked the end of private ownership and reflected the major political shifts sweeping through the region at that time.
