Santuario della Madonna di Salzana

Santuario della Madonna di Salzana is a Catholic pilgrimage church set high in the Lombardy mountains with traditional religious architecture and a wooden statue of the Madonna and Child. The building commands views across the valley from its elevated position.

The sanctuary was built in 1466 following two devastating landslides that destroyed the village of Salzana in response to the disaster. It received its consecration in 1548 from Milan's auxiliary bishop.
