Ebeli mõis

Ebeli mõis is a two-story manor house with a tiled roof located in the Ziepniekkalns district of Riga. The estate includes a park, a greenhouse, and a distinctive gazebo that are still visible today.

Merchant Joachim Ebel acquired the estate in 1799 and gave it his name after taking over from the previous owner. The manor then became a favored retreat for Riga's wealthy population.

The manor shows how wealthy merchants of Riga chose to spend their leisure time and reflects their taste for elegant country retreats. The estate with its park and outbuildings tells of a lifestyle that connected city life with country living.

The manor sits on the outskirts of Riga and is easy to reach from the central city areas. Since the structure is no longer maintained today, visitors should be careful and view it only from the outside.

The grounds hold an ancient oak tree that stood there long before the manor house was built. The estate was also known as Ermitage, a retreat that carried this name from Russian tradition.
