Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast

Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast is a trackless dark ride in Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland that guides guests through a multi-story castle structure. The vehicles pass through halls with 35 animated figures recreating film scenes while projections and lighting effects show the characters' transformation.

The Oriental Land Company closed an older racetrack in 2016 to make room for this ride, which opened in 2020. The construction cost over 30 billion yen and expanded Fantasyland with a new themed area.

The vehicles move without visible tracks through rooms where figures synchronize with the story. Japanese visitors hear narration in their language while the film's music plays throughout.

The ride lasts about eight minutes and each vehicle holds ten people. Visitors who want to avoid long waits can use Disney Premier Access, especially on weekends and holidays.

The vehicles appear to dance when they spin in the ballroom scene, gliding across the floor without visible guidance. Pepper's Ghost, a technique from the 19th century, creates transparent apparitions combined with modern projections on moving figures.
