Adaaran Prestige Vadoo, resort in Vaadhoo, Kaafu, Maldives
Adaaran Prestige Vadoo is a resort hotel on a private island in Kaafu Atoll, Maldives. It offers overwater villas with private pools as well as garden villas, all with direct access to the sea.
The resort opened in 1986 and was the first in the Maldives to build overwater villas. That early choice shaped how tourism across the islands would develop for decades to come.
Vadoo is one of the first islands in the Maldives to have welcomed international visitors, and the overwater way of life here feels natural and unhurried. Meals, relaxation, and daily rhythms all revolve around the sea, with wooden walkways connecting the villas above the water.
The island is reached by speedboat from Velana International Airport, and the crossing takes only a short time. Light clothing and sun protection are useful year-round, as the weather stays warm throughout all seasons.
Some villas have bathroom floors made of glass, so guests can watch fish swimming directly below their feet. This means you can observe marine life from inside the villa without ever stepping outside.
