Landhuis Salentein

Landhuis Salentein is an elegant mansion in Nijkerk with striking corner towers topped by hexagonal structures. The building sits within a landscape of gardens and parkland, accompanied by historic outbuildings that form a cohesive estate composition.

The estate began as a farmstead called Groot Valeveld in the 16th century but was substantially rebuilt by the Van Westerveld family during the 18th century. Later, between 1907 and 1909, it received the distinctive corner towers with crenellations that define its current appearance.

The mansion shapes the village landscape with its distinctive architecture and the generous park that surrounds it. Visitors experience here an ensemble of main building, garden layout, and historic outbuildings that together form an important architectural landmark in Nijkerk.

The estate functions today as an event venue with meeting rooms in the main building and a restaurant in the former carriage house. Plan to spend time in the park area, as the grounds offer plenty of space to explore.

A remarkably preserved iron entrance bridge dates from 1849 and shows the technical craftsmanship of that era. This structure is often overlooked but forms part of the estate's overall character.
