Originally established as a farmstead named Groot Vaneveld in the 16th century, the mansion underwent expansion by the Van Westerveld family during the 18th century.
The mansion holds national monument status due to its architectural design and integration with surrounding gardens, park grounds, and auxiliary structures.
The estate currently functions as an event venue with meeting spaces in the main building and a restaurant located in the former coach house.
The mansion includes an iron entrance bridge from 1849 and received its corner towers with battlements during renovations between 1907 and 1909.
