Grote of Sint-Gudulakerk

Sint-Gudulakerk is a Gothic church in Lochem featuring a tall western tower built in 1478. The interior contains three naves with ribbed vaults and star-shaped ceiling patterns throughout the main spaces.

The church began as a wooden structure in the 9th century and was later replaced by stone buildings through multiple construction phases. The tower was added during the Gothic period, marking a major change in the building's design.

The interior displays several furnishings and memorial stones that visitors can see directly, including a pulpit from the 17th century, an oak baptismal fence, and gravestones spanning different periods. These objects tell the story of people who worshipped here over the centuries.
