Watertoren

Watertoren is a circular water storage tower in Meppel that rises prominently above its surroundings with a white plastered exterior. The structure comprises several stacked sections that narrow toward a distinctive twelve-sided crown at the top.

The tower was built in 1893 and became a milestone for the town as the first in Drenthe province to have centralized water supply. This infrastructure allowed residents to access clean water reliably for the first time.
