The Hjorten Revy- og Varietéteater is a theatre building located at Ilevollen 15 in Ila, near the Britannia Hotel, with a main stage designed by architect Karl Norum. The venue was configured to host musicals, folk comedies, and classic dramas with a company of around 30 performers.
The theatre was founded in 1867 and operated until 1947. The building was demolished in 1961 to make way for a nursing home.
The theatre hosted international performers and brought European artists to Trondheim regularly. Fritz and Olga Topp traveled to major cities to book acts and expand the range of performances available to local audiences.
