Plac Unii

Plac Unii is a commercial complex in South Downtown featuring a 90-meter tower connected to two lower buildings by elevated glass-roofed pathways. The 22-floor structure houses office space, retail shops, and dining options distributed across approximately 46,000 square meters.

The complex opened in 2013 on land that once held Supersam, Poland's first supermarket that operated from 1962 until its demolition in 2006. This transition from socialist-era retail to contemporary commerce reflects broader changes in Warsaw's urban development.

The complex represents a shift in how Polish commercial spaces are designed and used by the public today. Modern architecture here shapes daily routines, with glass pathways and open areas encouraging people to move through and linger.

The complex is best explored on foot, with glass pathways connecting different sections smoothly. Allow time to orient yourself, as the layout across multiple levels requires some wandering to discover shops and restaurants.

The exterior uses polished black granite at street level combined with custom white tiles made from ground marble and glass on upper levels. This material contrast creates a visual distinction between the ground-level retail and the elevated spaces.
