Historical Museum in Sanok

The institution was founded in 1934 as the Museum of Sanok Land and is housed in a castle that King Casimir the Great transformed into a stone fortress in the medieval period. The location later became a central place for preserving the history and culture of the region.

The museum houses one of the world's largest collections of works by Polish artist Zdzisław Beksiński with hundreds of paintings, drawings, and photographs. This extensive collection allows visitors to explore the artistic development and range of work by this significant artist.
